Visit Saudi required a premium hospitality pavilion for the Dubai Rugby 7s that would introduce visitors to Saudi Arabia through a welcoming, culturally inspired environment. Within one of the region's busiest sporting events, the pavilion needed to balance high visitor throughput with moments of comfort, hospitality and meaningful brand engagement.

Working alongside the wider project team, Evolution Furniture supplied and styled furniture throughout the experience, helping transform a temporary structure into an environment that felt authentic, refined and inviting.

The Challenge

Sporting events are inherently dynamic environments where crowd behavior is fast and unpredictable. Fans are constantly on the move, drifting between stadium seating, hospitality lounges, and brand zones. To accommodate this rapid, high-volume flow of traffic without causing congestion, the outer boundary of the Visit Saudi pavilion was engineered as an active, engaging cafe zone.

We furnished this front of house area with robust, our rustic Tucker high tables crafted from natural wood, pairing them with matching Tucker wooden barstools complete with comfortable backrests. High level seating is an essential tool in sports hospitality layouts because it bridges the physical gap between sitting and standing. It allows tired fans to comfortably rest their legs while keeping their torsos upright and alert at a natural standing eye-level. Aesthetically, the rich, raw timber grains of the tables anchored the space, complementing the traditional bamboo-thatch ceiling panels and white walls adorned with subtle heritage patterns. To elevate the rustic foundations, we styled each tabletop with minimalist, stark white ceramic interlocking sculptures, adding a refined, modern edge to the organic base materials.

Creating Distinct Visitor Environments

Rather than treating the pavilion as one continuous space, the furniture strategy divided the experience into a series of environments, each supporting a different stage of the visitor journey.

The entrance café encouraged short dwell times and informal interaction, while the interior hospitality lounge invited visitors to slow down and spend more time exploring the destination content.

This zoning allowed furniture to actively shape visitor behaviour rather than simply providing places to sit.

Hospitality at the Entrance

The external café featured rustic timber Tucker high tables and matching bar stools, creating an approachable hospitality environment capable of accommodating large visitor volumes throughout the day.

The natural timber finishes complemented the surrounding architectural materials while contemporary tabletop styling introduced subtle modern detailing without competing with the wider pavilion design.

The Taste of Arabia Lounge

Inside the pavilion, long upholstered bench seating created a relaxed hospitality environment inspired by traditional Arabian gathering spaces while remaining contemporary and accessible.

Colourful cushions introduced warmth and character, while maintaining a calm visual palette that encouraged visitors to remain within the space and engage with the surrounding destination storytelling.

Finishing the Experience

Smaller furniture elements played an important role in reinforcing the overall guest experience.

Black and brass side tables, traditional lanterns and natural woven rugs added texture, warmth and visual weight, helping the temporary structure feel established rather than temporary.

Collectively these details supported the wider architectural concept while ensuring the hospitality environment remained practical for continuous public use.

Project ecosystem

The Visit Saudi pavilion was delivered through collaboration between specialist companies across the Evolution Ecosystem.

Evolution Scenic fabricated and installed the temporary architectural environment, within a temporary structure, and added the feature finishes and interior fit-out that established the overall visitor experience.

Working alongside the scenic team, Evolution Furniture supplied and styled the hospitality furniture throughout the pavilion, carefully selecting pieces that complemented the architectural language while supporting visitor comfort, operational durability and high-volume public use.

By combining specialist scenic fabrication with furniture and hospitality styling, the project delivered a cohesive environment where architecture, furniture and visitor experience worked together as a single integrated destination.

Project Outcome

Inside the pavilion, long upholstered bench seating created a relaxed hospitality environment inspired by traditional Arabian gathering spaces while remaining contemporary and accessible.

Colourful cushions introduced warmth and character, while maintaining a calm visual palette that encouraged visitors to remain within the space and engage with the surrounding destination storytelling.
